Tom Bell has been fly fishing since the 70s – starting in rivers, saltwater and stillwaters in the UK & abroad. He grew up in The Udny Arms fishing hotel in Newburgh, Aberdeen and started his fishing career spinning for sea trout with flies in the estuary of the River Ythan. Tom has fished right up to the highest competitive level but now focuses his efforts on guiding and instruction – hosting courses on Scotland’s Rover Shin and running trips to Venezuela for tarpon and bonefish. He is an Advanced AAPGAI Instructor in Double Handed Techniques and believes less in the science of casting and more in the art of movement.
