Fly tying is the process of producing an artificial fly, starting with a bare hook, then adding various materials, wires and feathers, and binding them all together with some kind of thread. There are all kinds of fly design - some so beautiful they never actually see the water, but end up mounted on somebody's wall (I know from experience... I've got some here!).
