Hammerhead caught by hand?!

This is actually a story with a happy ending. This hammerhead shark was seen, apparently struggling, in shallow water off a beach in Florida. As bystander, Marcus Lakos, recorded the unfolding action, a number of people attempted a daring rescue. One brave man waded out into the waves and literally grabbed the shark by the tail fin, towing it into the beach. There, once they had the shark pinned down, the group removed two steel hooks and the fishing line in which the shark had become entangled. The cheers went up as the hammerhead was released back into the water, swimming off apparently none the worse for its ordeal.

We love a happy ending…
