Possibly my favourite 1.5mins of fly fishing footage ever!

Here’s some footage of a team of guys from Fly Castaway,. which they took on the island of Farquhar, in the Indian Ocean, during their 2011/2012 season. The target fish is the Giant Trevally – an extremely aggressive predatory fish, which shares its time between shallow flats, reefs and deeper water.

As you may have read in Mike Green’s article on catching GTs on fly in Christmas Island this can be really exciting and often explosive sport.

I need to get to Farquhar, end of story. I’m adding the Fly Castaway guys to my to-do list!

Fly fishing for GTs, Farquhar

James Green About James Green

James Green loves nothing more than casting a fly in pursuit of salmon, seatrout or, when the opportunity arises, a tailing bonefish, tarpon or permit.
