The rooster fish are in Baja Mexico

Just had an update from Jeff deBrown, owner and guide of The Reel Baja. Jeff tell us that the fishing is getting very good in Baja at the moment. In Jeff’s words:

Rooster fly fishing in Baja Mexico

“There are some mid-sized roosters cruising the beaches. Shortly the grande fish will show up and we can’t wait to start chasing down some big roosters.”

This time of year anglers visiting the Baja peninsula can find themselves fighting big roosters, dorado and large marlin. It’s possible to fish both sides of the Cape, so there’s plenty to choose from – from blue water fishing for the pelagic species, to fly casting for roosters from the beach.

James Green About James Green

James Green loves nothing more than casting a fly in pursuit of salmon, seatrout or, when the opportunity arises, a tailing bonefish, tarpon or permit.
