Dorado vs Flying Fish: Incredible Footage

Are there any fishermen out there that don’t consider this BBC footage spectacular? How they captured these shots, I have no idea. It’s an excerpt from “Hunger at Sea” – part of the BBC series, “The Hunt”. As you’ll see, it features some beautiful dorado (sometimes known as ‘mahi mahi’ or dolphin fish) pursuing a school of flying fish. It’s a fantastic piece, and truly captures the gauntlet these flying fish have to run – attached from below AND above, as frigate birds take advantage when the flying fish take to the air.

If you’re in the UK… or if you have a VPN (don’t tell anyone I said that)… you can watch The Hunt on the BBC’s iPlayer.

James Green About James Green

James Green loves nothing more than casting a fly in pursuit of salmon, seatrout or, when the opportunity arises, a tailing bonefish, tarpon or permit.
