Fly Tying Tips and Tricks

Fly tying is the process of producing an artificial fly, starting with a bare hook, then adding various materials, wires and feathers, and binding them all together with some kind of thread. There are all kinds of fly design - some so beautiful they never actually see the water, but end up mounted on somebody's wall (I know from experience... I've got some here!).
But the purpose of this section is not to explain what fly tying is, or to wax lyrical about beautiful fly designs. No, it's to give fishers like you the best ideas, tips and insights into what flies work, where, why and when.
