On the same trip I had caught my first ever barracuda, kingfish and shark on fly. I was on a total high. For the rest of that day I sat happily puffing and watching my boat-partner fish. There was simply no way of upping my enjoyment of the week.

Fly fishing for giant trevally at Farquhar is not for the faint-hearted. Lots of walking, and big waves can make it fairly treacherous for anyone but young, fit anglers. But the rewards are handsome.

Wollaston Lake is a haven for the fly angler. We caught 100 pike, including five 20s, and sixteen walleye. I recommend it wholeheartedly and will be back!
